The Shoe Fits A collection of new, high-performance golf shoes that will not only make your walk more comfortable, but help you perform better too. Adidas TOUR 360 3.0 $180, adidasgolf.com Adidas's oh-so-familiar three-stripe design (red) doubles as a molded upper in the mid foot. This feature, known as 360WRAP, creates a snug fit across the top of your feet. A second molded three-stripe design (this one in the rear) locks your heel in place to prevent slippage. The "3D FitFoam" sock liner provides superb cushioning.

Callaway Hyperbolic X $180, callawaygolf.com Small TPU ridges (blue) around the sole's perimeter promote extra gripping power. The lining has a moisture-management system to regulate temperature so feet stay cool and dry. A dual-density insole— springy in forefoot, shock absorbent in heel—limits foot fatigue. You can even remove a pad beneath the insole for additional wiggle room (a wider fit).

Ecco Ultra Performance $250, eccousa.com This one-piece shoe is constructed with lightweight polyurethane that bonds the outsole, midsole and leather upper, a process that allows the shoe to wrap around your feet. The outsole combines areas designed for maximum flex with firmer areas meant for serious traction. A carbon-fiber shank further stabilizes the rear and forefoot.

Etonic Stabilizer $149, etonic.com The outsole system flexes naturally as you walk or swing. A "Powerpod" (blue triangle) provides additional arch support. Nine cleats per shoe—arranged asymmetrically—let you transfer weight without slipping. Cleats have an extra spike in the center that's said to contribute to 25 percent more traction than previous models.

FootJoy SYNR-G $189, footjoy.com The SYNR-G is proof that a golf shoe can be more than the sum of its parts. The large mid-foot support (made of a perforated aluminum alloy) links the wide, flared heel with the forefoot to create an ultra-stable base. "Memory foam" in the tongue and collar mold to the feet for a custom-like fit. Added heel support contributes to the secure feel.

Nike Zoom Elite II $129, nikegolf.com The webbing along the side (brown lines) is fashion-forward and functional. The TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) frame provides lateral support so your feet stay in place, while the "Zoom Air" unit provides extra shock absorption in the heel. The flexible channel (white) on the sole is supposed to help feet remain grounded longer. More Equipment News: • Drivers released in 2008 • Irons released in 2008 • The Shop Equipment Blog
