Great Indianapolis Golf

The green at Prairie View's 13th has more traps than a Duke full-court press. Ken E. May

If you’re following your school to the Final Four, plan your golf as carefully as you make your picks in the office pool. These five are all slam dunks for our Indianapolis Dream Team.

Prairie View Golf Club
7,073 yards, par 72; Greens fee: $90

A true Indiana Jones adventure. This Robert Trent Jones Jr. stunner has 90 bunkers and rolls through the prairies along the White River.

The Trophy Club
7,317 yards, par 72; Greens fee: $45-$60

Trophy is known for its big bumpy greens, so your putter needs to be hotter than Bobby Knight after a bad call.

Brickyard Crossing
6,994 yards, par 72; Greens fee: $90
($70 for Brickyard Crossing Resort guests)

This scenic track has four holes routed inside the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Fairway mounds and uneven lies lead to lots of wrecks here.

Otter Creek
West course: 3,580 yards, par 36
East course: 3,546 yards, par 36
North course: 3,678 yards, par 36
Greens fee: $65-$75

The Robert Trent Jones-designed North and West nines have the kind of hardwood hoops-loving golfers hate.plenty of trees. Rees Jones added the more open East in 1995, which has gaping bunkers and large, sloping greens.

Bear Slide Golf Club
7,041 yards, par 71; Greens fee: $45-$55

The namesake Bear Slide Creek dribbles artfully through the back nine on this track, which sports more personalities than Dennis Rodman.
