Tiger Woods Hits Root on 9th Hole in Masters Final Round

Things took a painful turn for Tiger Woods on his second shot on No. 9 during the final round of the Masters Sunday.

His drive on the par 4 found pine straw well right of the fairway, and while Woods was able to hit a nice recovery shot that wound up just short and right of the green, leading to a par, he didn’t escape unscathed.

Take a look:

Tiger appears to have struck a root under the ball. You can see him immediately grab his right wrist. While walking up to the green, Woods was clearly favoring his right arm and had a noticeable grimace on his face. His next full swing, off the tee on the par-4 10th, looked anything but comfortable and the ball went way right.

It remains to be seen whether his recovery shot on No. 9 will have any lasting consequences for Woods’ game.
