Tony Finau has worked hard to get to where he is today.
The 26-year-old turned down college basketball scholarships to pursue a career in professional golf — and boy has it paid off. Finau turned pro at the age of 17, spending time on a number of mini tours before landing on the Web.com tour in 2014. He finished that season 12th on the money list, which was good enough to lift him onto the PGA Tour.
Fast forward to 2016, and Finau is now a PGA Tour winner (he took the Puerto Rico Open in a playoff), is 77th in the Official World Golf Ranking and on the September 2016 issue of GOLF.
Averaging 312 yards off the tee, Finau ranks third on Tour in driving distance, and in this month’s magazine he shares his secrets to hitting the long ball.
Also in the issue: The Top 100 Courses You Can Play, an in-depth interview with Camilo Villegas and five putters that just won’t miss.
