Caitlyn Jenner will tee it up in the pro-am ahead of this week’s ANA Inspiration, the LPGA Tour’s first major, at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif., on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for IMG, which has operated the tournament on behalf of the LPGA since 2012, confirmed the New York Daily News report that the celebrated Olympian turned reality television star will play alongside retired soccer player and fellow golf enthusiast Abby Wambach.
Jenner, 66, is a transgender woman and avid golfer. She is a member at Sherwood Country Club in Los Angeles, where she reportedly keeps a strong 5.3 handicap.
Jenner’s transition landed her on the cover of Vanity Fair in July, and ESPN awarded her its Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY’s later that same month.
