How to watch the Players Championship

March 12, 2019

The Players Championship, the PGA Tour’s flagship event, begins on Thursday in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. If it seems a little early this year, it is. With the PGA Championship now being contested in May, the Players moved to March on the Tour schedule.

Rickie Fowler has had a strong start to the Florida swing, and is one of the favorites this week.

The action begins at 7:40 a.m. ET on the 1st and 10s tees at TPC Sawgrass. The players will go off in threesomes in a morning and afternoon waves.

All of the Tour’s top players are competing this week. Highlights of the morning wave include Justin Rose, Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas at 8:32 a.m. ET off tee No. 10, Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm and Sergio Garcia at 8:53 a.m. ET, also off tee No. 10, and Phil Mickelson, Matt Kuchar and Rory McIlroy right behind them at 9:04 a.m. ET — again, off tee No. 10.

The afternoon wave begins at 12:35 p.m. ET. A cluster of big names start their first round at 1:27 p.m. ET off tee No. 1: Tiger Woods, Webb Simpson and Patrick Reed.
