One of golf’s biggest party animals wants an invite to one of golf’s biggest parties.
England’s Andrew “Beef” Johnston, who famously said he was eager to “get hammered” after capturing his first European Tour title at the Spanish Open earlier this year, is at Canterbury Golf Club outside Cleveland this week in a bid to earn his PGA Tour card through the Web.com Tour Championship.
Asked if he was hoping to score an invite to #SB2K17, the highly anticipated social media sequel to the brotastic Bahamas buddy trip featuring Tour pros Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas and Smylie Kaufman, Johnston sheepishly admitted that he had already explored the possibility.
“It’d be interesting to see what they say, yeah,” Johnston said, laughing. “I’ve mentioned it to them before, so it’d be interesting if I get an invitation. I hope so. I hope so. I don’t think they will.”
Johnston might have a better chance than he thinks. One of the quartet, Thomas, is already showing the Beef the love.
