Callaway continues to roll out impressive new products in 2016 with the XR OS Irons ($799 steel, $899 graphite) and XR OS Hybrids ($220 each).
The irons, which are available in 4-SW, are aimed at players looking for a combination of maximum forgiveness and extra-long distance. Features include a multi-piece construction with a face cup that creates plenty of flex at impact for increased ballspeed and distance as well as low and deep CG for a higher ballflight.
The XR OS irons are also built with a wide sole that provides added forgiveness and improved turf interaction. A women’s set that features wider soles and lighter swingweights is also available.
The XR OS Hybrids are designed to integrate seamlessly into the iron set (combo sets are a standard offering) and are available in 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 models. The cup face design featured in the irons functions in the same way in the hybrids to produce more ballspeed across the entire clubface while a larger clubhead than the previous XR hybrids provides a higher MOI and added forgiveness.
A slight draw bias helps fight slicing while higher launch angles lead to more distance and steeper landing angles into greens. The XR OS Hybrids also come in women’s models.
The entire XR OS line will be available at retail on 1/22/16.
