Move over Chrissie and Greg: tennis queen Maria Sharapova has confessed to having a crush on one of the world's top golfers. And the coveted title of being Sharapova's object of desire isn't going to Tiger Woods.
In a posting on her Web site, the reigning U.S Open champ who has been named Maxim's "Hottest Female Athlete" for the past four years admits she'd like to get a little more friendly with handsome Aussie star Adam Scott.
Sharapova posted a list of "Top Ten Dream Mixed-Doubles Partners" that included Scott at No. 6, with the sultry tennis ace expressing the desire for a "night match."
Since grunting her way to victory at Wimbledon in 2004, Sharapova has become one of the most desirable women on the planet, and according to Forbes the world's highest-paid female athlete, grossing over $20 million last year. While Scott, 26, has almost seven years on the Russian heartthrob, Sharapova is no stranger to high-profile romances, having already had reported trysts with Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine and even fellow tennis star Andy Roddick.
But Scott shouldn't feel too good about his position on Maria's lusty list: among those ahead of him are Russian president Vladimir Putin ("No one will mess with us," Sharapova wrote) and England's Prince William.
While this romance exists only in cyberspace at least until Scott picks up the phone the golf/tennis love connection has been in the news this year, with relationships between the former world No. 1s Greg Norman and Chris Evert and between Venus Williams and Tour pro Hank Kuehne.
