Nicklaus-korea_640The Presidents Cup, a biennial match play event that pits the United States against an International squad, will be held in Asia for the first time in 2015.
What lucky course will get the honor of hosting the prestigious tournament? The Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in New Songdo City, South Korea.
Nicklaus and PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem held a joint press conference Wednesday to make the announcement, with Finchem saying, "Today, we further strengthen Jack Nicklaus’ commitment and connection to the Presidents Cup."
Nicklaus, whose design company has done most of its recent work in Asia, said, "This will be a tremendous opportunity to showcase on a world stage the
beauty of Korea and the country’s passion for the game of golf. Having
been fortunate to be involved in several Presidents Cup matches in the
past, I know how uniquely special this event is and how it represents to
a global audience all that is great about the game of golf."
