NBC Sports won't show Presidents Cup finale live
NBC Sports has decided to show the Sunday singles at the Presidents Cup on tape delay instead of showing the matches live, according to a statement from the network.
Because of the rain delays that have plagued this year's event at Murifield Village in Dublin, Ohio, the Sunday singles started at 9 a.m. Eastern time on Sunday morning, instead of noon as originally planned. Here's the statement from NBC:
Resumption of today’s Presidents Cup will begin tomorrow morning on Golf Channel at 7 a.m. ET through the conclusion of the Foursomes matches. Coverage of the Singles matches will begin on GOLF CHANNEL ON NBC at Noon ET. Since the tee times have been moved forward to the morning, contractual obligations and NBC's Sunday morning news and public affairs programming will force coverage to be tape-delayed, barring further weather delays. While Presidents Cup matches are being played live Sunday morning, NBC sister network The Golf Channel is broadcasting coverage of the Seve Cup from Europe.
