Zach Johnson shot 60 in the third round, the 21st time that score has been posted on the PGA Tour. The last time a player shot 60 was, coincidentally, Zach Johnson at the 2007 Tour Championship. The first round of 60 was also shot at the Texas Open, by Al Brosch in 1951 at Brackenridge Park.

Johnson is the third person in the 2009 season to defend a 2008 title. Tiger Woods repeated at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and Phil Mickelson at the Northern Trust.

James Driscoll shot a final-round 62, which beat his previous career low on the PGA Tour by three.

In 103 PGA Tour starts, Driscoll has only finished in the top 10 three times, but two of those were runner-up finishes. His other second place finish also came in a playoff loss, to Tim Petrovic at the 2005 Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
