Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley thrilled the home crowd on Friday by winning both of their matches in dramatic fashion. The Americans head into the weekend with a 5-3 lead.

Europe's only rookie, Nicolas Colsaerts, after making a long birdie putt on No. 17 in the four-ball session. He made eight birdies and an eagle in one of the all-time great Ryder Cup rounds. He and Lee Westwood defeated Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker, 1 up.
