Davis Love III joined the PGA Tour in 1986 after playing college golf at North Carolina. His first PGA Tour victory came at the 1987 MCI Heritage Classic (now the Verizon Heritage Classic) at Harbour Town. Love would go on to win that tournament five times, including in 1998 (pictured).

Love after defeating Constantina Rocca in singles at the 1993 Ryder Cup. Love went 2-2 that year, including a four-ball victory with Tom Kite against Seve Ballesteros and Jose Maria Olazabal, who is the likely 2012 captain for Europe. In four other Ryder Cup matches against Olazabal, however, Love was 0-4.
