For some lucky golfers, a cold spell just means a few weeks with a balky putter. But if you live north of a line drawn coast to coast through Kansas City, golf is a seasonal sport bookended by bleak stretches where your clubs spend more time in the garage than in the trunk of your SUV. Come Super Bowl Sunday, you already long to hear those heartwarming words, "A tradition unlike any other: The Masters."
You need the resolve of a Minnesota mailman to keep swinging in frigid temperatures--at least until that first blizzard--but winter golf doesn't have to be an oxymoron. Just get prepared.
