It seems marriage proposals are trending big right now in the world of professional golf.
This week, former World No. 3 Paul Casey announced his engagement over the holiday break to his girlfriend, British TV host Pollyanna Woodward. This comes in the wake of last week's news that Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki would be tying the knot.
The Telegraph has the report:
"Pollyanna's fantastic and understands me very well," Casey said. "Those that have met her will understand the positivity she carries with her. It's very infectious and it's something that's nice to have around. I'm not that way and I need to be. She is very calm, and I think that's been a very positive influence on my golf and on my life in general."
The pair met in 2011 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, as both were piecing their lives back together after divorces. For his part, Casey was in the midst of a horrid spell on the course, caused not only by the upheaval in his personal life but also by a snowboarding injury.
Casey is in Durban, South Africa this week for the European Tour's Volvo Champions event. He ended a two-year winning drought at last year's Irish Open.
