What's in my bag?

Luke Donald's clubs
David Walberg

At 29, Luke Donald is a card-carrying member of the Next Big Thing Club — he's won on the European Tour and the PGA Tour, was a stud in the Ryder Cup and reached the top 10 of the World Rankings. Take a look into the Englishman's bag.

Fitting advice

"Always get fitted. My clubs are 1-degree upright, which is a little different for someone my size. At 5'9" you'd think I'd have flatter clubs, but the way I swing determines the loft and lie I need."

Bag of tricks

"I keep a couple of knitting needles and string in my bag. I use them on the practice green for a putting drill, to help me see how my putts break."

Oldest club

"My 3-year old 3-wood [Royal Collection, Sonartec's sister company in Japan]. It's a bit of a personal thing. I love my irons but sometimes you find a wood that you really like and it's hard to let it go."

Favorite club

"My Mizuno MP sand iron. I've been productive around the green lately. It's great for scrambling and for getting up and down from inside 100 yards. It has the standard 9 degrees of bounce."
