We tested: 3-PW with FST KBS Tour steel shaft
Key Technologies: A pair of tungsten back weights (twice the density of steel) repositions the CG to boost forgiveness. The company's thinnest-face iron is meant to produce longer shots, too.
OUR TESTERS SAY: Deep, perimeter-weighted cavity delivers above-average forgiveness; heel-bias weighting plus ample offset make it nearly impossible to slice.
PLAYABILITY: Great, if you like consistently high, straight shots; a few guys can draw the ball.
ACCURACY/FORGIVENESS: Good choice for players who come over the top and struggle with a slice swing; good forgiveness across the face with very little sidespin.
DISTANCE CONTROL: A few testers are 5-7 yards longer on solid hits than with their own irons; mis-hits deliver more bang than some others tested.
FEEL: Clubhead delivers a firm thump on center hits.
LOOK: Bulky head and pronounced cavity provide lots of beef behind ball.
Some testers find the grip too light and the head too heavy; hard to discern good hits from bad ones; testers must really manipulate the face to generate curvature.
