We tested: 17°, 20° and 23° with Ping TFC 700H graphite shaft
Category: Better Player Hybrids
Company line: "For golfers who prefer a traditional hybrid shape and size, the stainless steel i15 offers a high moment of inertia with Tour-preferred trajectory. Internal weighting (low and rear) produces the penetrating ball flight that gives better players control to hit a variety of shots."
OUR TESTERS SAY:
PROS: Very good for shaping shots; versatile from different lies and a breeze from the rough; you can tell how you've hit it due to ample response; tight shot dispersion; reduced spin provides good distance, particularly off the tee; penetrating trajectory is a plus in windy conditions; little twisting through impact.
CONS: Not the most satisfying feel at contact compared to others; trajectory is a little lower than some would like; a few testers say it feels too head heavy.
