From Golf Magazine (ClubTest, May 2010)
Category: Fairway Woods
We tested: 3 (15.5°), 4 (17°), 5 (18.5°) and 7 (21.5°) with Ping TFC 149F graphite shaft
Company line: "An external weight pad on the sole positions the center of gravity (CG) to provide higher trajectories and increased distance. The elongated, low-profile stainless steel design offers a long-hitting, forgiving option for golfers who rely on the confidence of a larger head."
OUR TESTERS SAY:
PROS: One of the elite fairway woods; testers embrace the highly responsive impact feel to the hands and soft "ping" sound; shots launch high and then take off; consistent performers that are plenty accurate and forgiving; pound for pound, the G15 is among the longest hitters; the 7-wood is a standout, particularly from dicey lies; several testers plan to add G15 to their arsenal.
CONS: A few guys prefer a bit more freedom to work the ball left or right; a minority prove inconsistent from downhill or sidehill lies.
From Sports Illustrated Golf+ Equipment Issue (February 8, 2010)
