Never Compromise X-Ray Beta
Category: Midsize Mallet Putters
We tested: 34", 35" shaft length
Company line: "Our 'Suspended Face Technology' insert includes firm ribs and a softer composite. The result is vibration dampening and responsiveness. We move 25 percent of the head weight to the perimeter for a high MOI and extreme forgiveness."
Our Testers say:
PROS: Very highly rated overall; produces smooth
roll and immediate overspin; dummy-proof, userfriendly
visual aid; excellent distance control, it
flat out performs; easy to square at impact; one
of the best for lag putts; pendulum feel despite
"toe down" weighting, keeps the head moving
toward the target; some panelists find that this
flatstick improves their stroke.
CONS: Slight metallic sound at impact can be a turnoff; a few testers prefer more feedback.

AUGUSTA, Ga. Vijay Singh is competing this week with a new belly putter in his bag, a Never Compromise X-Ray. Singh, the 2000 Masters champion, had been using a Never Compromise GM2 Exchange #7 as recently as last week at the Shell Houston Open.
The X-Ray is a high-MOI mallet, which is designed to help players improve their alignment and remain steady at impact for improved distance control. There are five metallic "ribs" embedded in a soft insert to create a cushioned feel and help the ball start rolling faster.
