From Golf Magazine (May 2011)
Category: Fairway Woods
We tested: 15°, 18° with Fujikura Blur graphite shaft
Key Technologies: The oversize clubhead increases MOI for added forgiveness. The face is 16 percent taller and 26 percent larger than on the S2, resulting in a larger sweet spot, faster ball speeds and more distance.
OUR TESTERS SAY: Versatility is this club's strong suit; easy to launch from a variety of lies.
PROS
PLAYABILITY: Very good performer from all trouble lies, especially rough; flight is generally straight and boring.
ACCURACY/FORGIVENESS: Plenty of help on heel and toe shots - slight off-center hits don't run off and hide.
DISTANCE: Slightly longer than some testers' own woods on center contact; off-center hits travel acceptable distance.
FEEL: Stable sensation during swing leads to a relatively soft feel on center strikes; off-center hits are discernable but not insulting.
LOOK: Typical Cobra profile and alignment aid make it easy to point at the target.
CONS
A few testers seek more overall distance; impact feel can be too dull or muted.
From Sports Illustrated Golf+ (February 7, 2011)
Designed for players seeking distance and accuracy, the woods have a 25% larger face, which increases the size of the Sweet Zone for a higher COR. The clubs also have a high moment of inertia for superior forgiveness.
