Selling points: These oversized but traditional-looking irons are made for players seeking high-flying shots and plenty of distance. Featuring a dual hollow cavity design and a lower, deeper CG, the Fly-Z XL irons are built with thin clubfaces as well as a Speed Channel in the sole and cavity. This combination increases ball speed on off-center hits, enabling the irons to provide distance while maintaining forgiveness. A progressive offset helps straighten slices, while lightweight shafts enhance swing speed and distance.

Buyer beware: These sticks are designed for players looking to launch it high, long and straight. However, the light shafts, offset, wide soles and oversized heads won’t fit everyone. If you’re a stronger player with a high swing speed and a natural draw, these might not be for you.

Fine print: Available in right- and left-handed in 4-GW or with a combination of irons and Fly-Z XL Hybrids (4-6H, 7-GW). Matrix Graphite shafts or FST Steel shafts come standard with Lamkin REL EPDM grips.

Bottom line: $499, 4-GW/steel ; $599, combo set/steel ; $699 combo set/graphite
