Callaway X Hot Fairway Woods

Like its brethren, the X Hot sits low to the ground to make it easy to get under the ball.

From Golf Magazine (December 2006)
Callaway certainly hit its mark with the X fairway woods. The X received Testers' Top Pick in our annual ClubTest and, at press time, owned the largest market share in its category. Now there's a super-charged 3-wood, called X Hot, to max out distance.

At 15 degrees loft, this stick has a longer shaft (44" versus 43") than the standard X to boost head speed and a strong, lighter-than-normal (by 7 grams) stainless steel face for faster ball speed. But the forest is lined with big, crooked hitters. So Callaway's design team constructed a bigger head from front to back and heel to toe — 201cc versus 167cc — for 19 percent more stability (forgiveness) on off-center hits. Company tests reveal X Hot is as much as 11 yards longer than comparative 3-woods.
