Callaway HEX Black Tour, HEX Chrome
From GOLF Magazine
IT’S FOR: Better players seeking more spin consistency on greenside shots.
SKINNY: The 5-piece ball replaces Tour i(z) and Tour i(s). It’s engineered to produce the length of Tour i(z) with the control of Tour i(s). A softer inner core than previous “i” balls and firmer outer core than i(z) decrease driver spin. Two Surlyn mantle layers aid durability and ball speed. Its soft thermoplastic urethane cover has a similar hardness to Tour i(s) for maximum spin on greenside shots.
IT’S FOR: Accomplished players who have moderate swing speeds (<95 mph).
This 3-piece ball delivers Tour-level spin and short-game performance; it has the same soft, thin urethane cover as the HEX Black Tour. The ball’s hexagonal dimples provide more surface area coverage than typical dimple patterns to reduce drag and create a stable flight. A new, resilient, low-compression core generates high ball speeds and soft feel.
