From Golf Magazine (ClubTest, March 2010)
Category: Game-Improvement Irons
We tested: 3-4 hybrid with UST Mamiya Proforce AXIVCore
graphite shaft, 5-iron to PW with True Temper Performance
Lite steel shaft
Company line: "The hybrids (3-4) have 41 grams of external rear weight to increase launch angle and spin; trans hybrid (5) has a hollow head with 13 percent thinner face to increase distance; cavity-back irons (6-PW) have a dual cavity."
Our Testers say:
PROS: The hybrids immediately bolster overall performance;
firm, crisp irons and lively hybrids send precise info; repeatable
distance on solid hits; for some, measurable gains in carry
distance; medium-high flight; shots generally go straight but
can be worked; hybrids deliver from the tee, fairway or rough.
CONS: Perceived weight difference between steel-shafted irons and graphite-shafted hybrids takes getting used to; the ball can feel a little too jumpy with hybrids; a few experience larger-than-normal distance gap between 5-iron and 4-hybrid.

From Golf Magazine (November 2009)
The company's forte
is a smooth integration
between hybrids and
scoring clubs. The Idea a7
delivers two hybrids (in place
of 3- and 4-irons), a transition
club (hollow-headed 5-hybrid)
and cavity-back irons (6-iron to
PW). Hybrid updates include a
sleeker look (the boxy shape is
gone), more sole camber and a
41-gram backweight for added
forgiveness and easier launch.
