FAR HILLS, N.J. (AP) — George "Buddy" Marucci has been\nselected by the USGA as captain of the U.S. Walker Cup team for the\nsecond time.

Marucci is to lead a group of American amateurs against Great\nBritain and Ireland at his home course of Merion Golf Club in 2009.\nThe 55-year-old Marucci lost to Tiger Woods in the final of the\n1995 U.S. Amateur. He was captain of the 2007 team that claimed a\none-point victory over Great Britain and Ireland in September. The\nAmericans hold a 33-7-1 record in the series.

Marucci has qualified for more than 45 USGA championships,\nincluding 23 U.S. Amateurs. He was a Walker Cup team member in 1995\nand 1997.
