MALELANE, South Africa(AP) Michael Jonzon of Sweden had three birdies and an eagle through seven holes Thursday en route to a 7-under 65 and a share of the lead at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Jonzon added two birdies on the back nine at Leopard Creek for a bogey-free opening round. He shares the lead with Len Mattiace of the United States.
``The greens were very receptive, and even though I wasn't driving that well today, it didn't matter what side of the pin you left the ball,'' Jonzon said. ``It all went right for me.''
Mattiace had one bogey and eight birdies.
``I don't think I've ever played a round where I've hit it close that many times,'' Mattiace said. Mattiace missed out on the PGA Tour Qualifying School final, but played last week in Argentina.
``I really challenged myself'' Mattiace said.
Lee Westwood, Robert Rock, Johan Edfors and Rafael Cabrero Bello each shot 66.
