Javier Ballesteros to follow in famous father's footsteps

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) - Javier Ballesteros, the son of late golf great Seve, will play in a professional tournament for the first time Thursday on the same course where his father made his pro debut.

The 21-year-old Ballesteros has entered the Spanish tour event at the Sant Cugat club as an amateur and has been grouped with two-time European Tour winner Pablo Larrazabal and fellow Spaniard Txomin Hospital.

Javier Ballesteros says it is a ``double excitement'' to know he is playing the same course where his father made his professional debut in 1974.

Javier, whose father died last May, says he has ``no pressure for being Seve's son,'' and plans to complete his law studies before considering whether to take up the game professionally.
