Monday finish? BMW Championship suspended for all of Sunday

September 9, 2018

The PGA Tour announced Sunday afternoon that it had suspended play for the remainder of the day. “The start to R4 at BMW Champs has been postponed beyond Sunday. Plans for Monday will follow later in the day,” the Tour announced in a tweet.

Players could resume tournament action on Monday, weather permitting. But rain is expected to continue the rest of Sunday at Aronimink, just outside Philadelphia. And the forecast hardly gets better Monday. If the Tour is unable to complete the final round, it will revert to 54-hole scoring, crowning Justin Rose as the winner. Rose would move to No. 1 in the world in the process.

Play could also continue into Tuesday, but only if more than half the field has finished their final round.
