Tiger Woods on Ryder Cup Win: ‘We Were a Team’

After the Americans had finally nabbed the Ryder Cup title again, after a wait of eight years, Tiger Woods spoke to the Golf Channel about his involvement as a vice captain.

“We were a team,” Woods said of the winning squad. “Whether I was playing or not I was a part of a team. Our team won… My role was to help the team however possible, and I hope I’ve done that.”

Captain Davis Love III praised Woods before and during the tournament, saying that Woods brought a strategic mind to Team USA. “I take pride in the work I do out there,” Woods would say later. “This is no exeption. Whether cash is involved or not, you are always playing for pride.”
