Tiger Woods fans might have something to look forward to. But don’t get too excited just yet.
According to a report from Alex Miceli of Golfweek, Woods registered for the U.S. Open at Oakmont earlier this month at 4:33 p.m. on April 4. The deadline to register is at 5 p.m. on April 27.
While this means Woods can play the U.S. Open, it doesn’t necessarily mean he will play. Due to his victory at the 2008 Open at Torrey Pines, Woods receives an exemption into the event until 2019.
Though video footage of Woods hitting a driver at a clinic surfaced late last week, Woods’ camp has said there is no update on when the 40-year-old golfer plans to return to the PGA Tour.
The second major of the season is June 16-19 just outside of Pittsburgh.
