Rory McIlroy isn’t the only top player–or Irishman, for that matter–giving away golf clubs this week.

A few days after McIlroy gave a Nike Covert driver to a random person who commented on his Facebook post, Shane Lowry, who won the most recent WGC event, gave his putter to a fan during the WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai. However, Lowry’s M.O. wasn’t quite as gracious as McIlroy’s.

Following his opening round 74 at Sheshan International GC Thursday, during which he averaged more than two putts per hole, Lowry handed off his Odyssey putter to a happy fan shown below. Lowry won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in August, but sits in a tie for 70th after his round Thursday.
