Rory McIlroy is on a roll. At the Northern Trust Open today, he sunk a stunning 58-foot putt on the par-4 3rd hole at Riviera CC. After hooking his tee shot far left, McIlroy reached the front edge of the green with his second shot. Then, from 58 feet away, he rammed in his third for the birdie. It moved him to 6-under at the time.

The Northern Irishman appears unshaken by his recent social media squabbles with Brandel Chamblee over his commitment to weightlifting, shooting 67 in round one. As Jordan Spieth said in a press conference this week after his surprising slump, Rory’s looking at this tournament as the beginning of his run at the Masters. Jordan will have to wait for his moment.

Six holes later, McIlroy drained another long putt, this one from 28 feet.
