Down but definitely not out, Rory McIlroy used his extra time in Ireland to enjoy the outdoors, even if the weather didn’t cooperate.
After making an early exit from the Irish Open where he shot an 80 in the opening round and failed to make the cut, McIlroy hung around to fulfil tournament duties (his Rory Foundation hosted the event) and show off his new girlfriend, Erica Stoll. Also on the docket – filming what would appear to be a commercial for his biggest sponsor, Nike.
McIlroy signed a reported $200-million deal with the athletic gear giant in early 2013. Naturally, a little rain wasn’t going to bother the world’s No. 1 player.
The only question is: Can Rory top his last Nike commercial?
