Golf is hard. Getting out of the rough sometimes isn’t just about the shot — it’s about getting yourself out. On Thursday, Patrick Reed found himself tangled on a steep hill of long fescue grass at the Scottish Open at Castle Stuart, an event that many pros play to prepare for the British Open.
Reed managed to hit the shot (dislodging the ball) but soon afterward lost his balance and slid down the hill on his heels.
Some commentators were quick to point out the stumble’s resemblance to a similar moment at the 2015 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits, when Phil Mickelson slipped down a steep embankment.
