Virginia Tech Golf Coach Nabs Two Aces in Three Holes

If one is good, two is usually better. Such is the case on the golf course, especially in terms of counting holes-in-one. Virginia Tech women’s golf coach Carol Robertson found out rather quickly Monday.

Playing at Celebration Golf Club in Orlando, Robertson kicked off her round with an early ace on the third hole. Two holes later, she would be back on a par-3 on the 162-yard fifth hole. The result was no different.

“It was like slow motion, watching that one go in,” Robertson said to the Washington Post Wednesday. “We couldn’t believe it. I fell over. I was sitting there thinking, ‘Is this really happening?’”

This isn’t her first success story on the golf course, though. Robertson won the 2006 Virginia State Amateur and reached the finals of the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur in 2010.

So she’s played some great golf in the past, but two aces in three holes is about as good as it gets.
