Mother Nature Pays Tribute to Nancy Reagan at Golf Course

March 7, 2016

Former first lady Nancy Reagan died Sunday at 94 from congenital heart failure and an outpouring of support from across political aisles soon followed.

Mother Nature, it seems, had her own tribute in mind.

Just hours after Reagan passed, a rainbow was spotted over Indian Canyons Golf Resort in Palm Springs, one of Ronald Reagan’s favorite courses. Rain had apparently been in the forecast all day, making the respite somewhat unexpected.

Even more fitting: the influential first lady’s secret service nickname was “rainbow.”

Reagan will be buried near the presidential library named for her late husband in Simi Valley, a two hour ride from Palm Springs.
