Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty Had Secret Tunnels Into Playboy Mansion

April 1, 2015

Stepping inside the Playboy Mansion is an in-your-dreams, A-list-only occurrence for most.

Back in the 1970s, though, a few celebrities look to have had what might be considered an all-access pass.

Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, Kirk Douglas and James Caan may have had secret underground tunnels connecting their homes to the mansion, according to blueprints and photos found in Playboy archives and published at Playboy.com

Those tunnels, according to the 1970s-era blueprints, passed beneath the fairways and greens of Los Angeles Country Club’s North Course, a GOLF Magazine Top 100 Course and potential site for a future U.S. Open.

Now, to clarify, this could be just some sort of April Fools joke put on by the folks at Playboy, but in this case we hope that’s not true. The thought of the tunnels is too much fun.

The tunnel from Beatty’s house is featured in the article and is by no means a short trip. According to the prints, it would stretch at least 2,100 feet, or just less than half a mile. We think it was worth the trip.
