Fear not, South Africa — despite many Olympic golf withdrawals including Louis Oosthuizen, Charl Schwartzel, and now Branden Grace, the country still has hope in the form of a Black Knight.

Following Grace’s announcement that he was not going to participate in the 2016 Rio Olympics for fear of contracting the Zika virus, Gary Player jumped at the opportunity to volunteer his help.

“I will be in Rio, have no plans for more children and averaged 70 last year,” the 80-year-old legend tweeted. “Ready to play if anymore withdrawals.”

The tweet included some winky emojis to indicate jest, but we wouldn’t be so surprised if Player truly meant what he said. At the rate that players are backing out of the Olympic Games, he just might have that chance. Talk about your knight in shining armor!
