A European Tour golfer got a nice surprise today at the Volvo China Open in Beijing. Rikard Karlberg made an ace on the 201-yard 16th hole, but didn’t realize it until he walked to the green. Standing at the tee, Karlberg couldn’t tell whether the ball had gone in or not. Once there, he plucked the ball from the hole and kissed it.
Karlberg is currently ranked 153rd in the world. The Swede last won at the Italian Open in 2015, but tied for eighth at the Shenzhen International earlier this month.
The prize for an ace at the Volve China Open? A Volvo XC90, worth about $75,000.
