Five-time LPGA tour winner Brittany Lincicome sounds off on her major regret, her love of all things ocean, and her security blanket and care bear (really!).
If you could pick an actress to play you in a movie, who would it be?
I would love for Cameron Diaz to play me. She seems to enjoy life. She is always having fun and looks like she loves what she does in every movie she makes. And she’s beautiful! So that helps.
What’s your secret talent?
I don’t know if I have one. I don’t juggle or anything like that. I would go fishing every day if I could, though, but that’s not really a secret to anyone who knows me.
What’s something you’re terrible at?
Juggling? It would have to be something artsy because I am pretty athletic and play softball, tennis and in general a lot of sports. But I’m a horrible dancer. So let’s go with that.
What player on the LPGA Tour reminds you of yourself?
Probably Brittany Lang. She’s also really sporty and tomgirlish. Neither of us dresses up that often, and we both enjoy being in workout clothes or jeans and a T-shirt. She’s from Texas, so she does wear cowboy boots a lot more than I do, since I live in Florida.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever seen on the golf course?
In a pro-am recently, we thought we saw a man with a wig on. My caddie thought it was just a headband or something. But it actually was his hair! I wasn’t sure if it was a huge toupee or what, but we kind of saw him from afar, and it was pretty bad. Also, some of the outfits I’ve seen are pretty bad.
What is your biggest regret?
Not going to college and missing the partying and social aspect. Having said that, I wouldn’t trade where I am today for anything.
If you have tickets to a concert, who is playing?
It’s gotta be a country artist. It would either be Carrie Underwood or Lady Antebellum.
What is your most prized possession?
I carry a blanket with me. It has to be in my carry-on. I have a blanket and a bear actually. I can’t sleep on an airplane without the bear. He’s my pillow.
What is your idea of a perfect day?
Fishing. Maybe specifically in the Bahamas with beautiful blue water and whales or something in the background. Not fishing for whales, but fishing for anything as long as there’s pretty blue water and perfect weather.
