Phil Mickelson began the final round of the 2016 British Open one shot behind Henrik Stenson, having surrendered his lead to the Swede on Saturday. But Lefty made sure to correct that as soon as possible on Sunday.
At the first hole, Stenson hit an uninspiring approach shot from the fairway, coming up short of the green. Mickelson saw his opening and stuck his own approach, spinning the ball back toward the cup and nearly holing out for an eagle. A tap-in birdie putt coupled with a bogey by Stenson created a two-shot swing, giving the lead back to Mickelson. But Stenson birdied 2, 3 and 4, and after Mickelson stuffed his second shot on the par-5 4th, he made eagle and tied Stenson at 14-under. Watch Mickelon’s shot below. It should be a fun back-and-forth matchup.
