Billy Hurley III was born outside of Washington D.C. in Leesburg, Virginia. He went to college in Annapolis, Maryland, at the Naval Academy, and he won his first PGA Tour event Sunday at the Quicken Loans National in Bethesda.

And when he got back to his house, the hometown boy noticed something different: his neighbors had papered his home with cards of support and congratulations.

Hurley, 34, tweeted out a series of photos put into a collage with the message “Thanks to our wonderful neighbors for the welcome home gift last night.”

Just before that, he tweeted out a screengrab of his phone with some 233 texts and offered his thanks for the outpouring of support he’s received: “Completely overwhelmed & humbled by well wishes & support. I will get back to everyone. For now enjoying w/ my fam.”
