The Wyndham Championship represents the last event for players to reach the top 125 in order to qualify for the upcoming FedEx Cup playoffs. Sergio Garcia, who is in the field this week, currently sits at 131 in points standings. Also in the field is the Chilean teenager Joaquin Niemann, who has special temporary status on Tour through the Wyndham. To compete in the playoffs, he would need to win here in order to become a full member.
