Truth and Rumors: Public still down on Tiger

Truth and Rumors: Public still down on Tiger

If you're not familiar with the term Q rating (also Q Score), it's defined by the almighty Wikipedia as "a measurement of the familiarity and appeal of a brand, company, celebrity, or television show used in the United States. The higher the Q Score, the more highly-regarded the item or person is among the group that is familiar with them."
Once you know what the term means you can understand how at one time in the not too distant past, Tiger Woods was the king of Q rating. He was not only arguably the most recognizable person on the planet, but he was seemingly loved by all. These days, well, a lot of things are different for the world's former No. 1 player, including his Q.
According to a poll by The Q Scores Company taken last summer, a whopping 50 percent of respondents thought of Tiger negatively with only 16 percent having a positive perception. Since these numbers haven't improved one bit since the poll was taken, it's safe to assume that as long as Tiger isn't winning (and he hasn't since '09), he isn't going to make a comeback in public opinion, regardless of how many talk show appearances he makes. FYI: Tiger is currently tied with Eagles QB Michael Vick for the most negative Q Score. Rors named UNICEF Ireland AmbassadorThis past weekend Rory McIlroy, the eighth ranked player in the world, was appointed a UNICEF Ireland Ambassador. In the role McIlroy will help raise money to support UNICEF's goal of reducing the number of daily preventable deaths of children from the current 22,000.

"I've known about UNICEF for a long time. I'm thrilled to become an ambassador. I'm looking forward to working with UNICEF, making a field visit and learning as much as I can so I can help children around the world."

FYI: Some superstars are actually good guys too. TWEET OF THE DAY: Hank@HankDHaney RT @MGMYANKS13: Do you think Tiger finally gets it done this week? I think he will win, played better at Doral, great history at Bay Hill
