Golf Magazine associate editor Jessica Marksbury looks back at the highs and lows from the year in fashion.
BEST ARGYLE: The best thing about argyles and diamond prints is versatility. Adam's Scott's Aquascutum iteration is bold and classic (center), while both Justin Rose's Ashworth (left) and Ian Poulter's IJP Design sweaters incorporate brighter colors for a more modern look.

BEST TEAM UNIFORM: While Team USA lost this year's heart-stopping Ryder Cup, they walloped the Europeans in the Ryder Cup of Style. This practice round ensemble from Polo Ralph Lauren was my favorite of the week. The white pants looked crisp and clean, and the navy blue polo had a fun pop of color under the arm.

WORST TEAM UNIFORM Uniforms don't get much yuckier than this brown-on-brown combination from Team Europe. Thankfully, it was only a practice day.

BEST KNEESOCKS: Thanks to LPGA trendsetters like Ai Miyazato, Michelle Wie and Belen Mozo, compression socks were elevated from mere pieces of equipment to full-blown fashion statements.

(MORE) BEST KNEESOCKS: Paula Creamer went above and beyond (literally!) on day three of this year's Women's British Open in a pair of candy cane-striped kneesocks. Creamer's statement was unexpected, bold, and playful - just what the LPGA needs.

WORST EASTER EGG PANTS: It's hard to find anything to match a pair of pastel pants (unless you're Ian Poulter). My advice? Better to avoid them entirely.

BEST WHITE PANTS: Long favored by European players, white pants are finally getting some love from Americans too, and for good reason. White pants look sharp and go with everything. Just make sure yours are double-lined!

WORST PRINTED PANTS Poor John Daly. No other player gets such a hard time for his apparel. Loudmouth Golf certainly endures a lot of criticism, but the brand has lots of fans, and not every piece in the line is bad. These pants, however, are. I admire your patriotism, John, but let's leave the flag where it belongs!

BEST SUNGLASSES: Morgan Pressel, Paula Creamer and Natalie Gulbis represent one of my favorite trends of the year: oversized fashion-forward sunglasses that transition seamlessly from the course to the street.

BEST OMBRE PRINTS: I expect to see plucky Puma darlings Rickie Fowler and Lexi Thompson wearing every color of the rainbow (sometimes in the same outfit), but much to my surprise, even the classic and conservative Tiger Woods (pictured here during the second round of the PGA Championship) embraced the colorful ombre fade-print trend and looked fantastic.

WORST MUSTACHES: Geoff Ogilvy, Louis Oosthuizen, Johnson Wagner, you're all very handsome men, and while I appreciate everything the Movember mustache-growing movement stands for, I think I can safely speak for 99 percent of women when I say...please shave!
