Olin Browne started the back nine with two bogeys, but then he made two eagles to shoot a second straight 67. Browne made a two on the par-4 12th, and a three on the par-5 13th. "From looking at my stats, I've gotten my eagles for the year out of the way," Browne said.

Hunter Mahan, the first-round leader, made 10 birdies on Thursday, but only two on Friday. He shot a one-over 71. "The greens are firming out a little bit," Mahan said. "I can see a lot of balls skip through the greens sometimes. I'm just happy to be done."

Fred Funk made a sloppy bogey on 18, but he still shot a five-under 65. "I'm starting to play like I did earlier this year, better than I was back then," Funk said. "I just have to get the putter going."

Vijay Singh followed a double bogey on 10 with three straight birdies, and finished the day at one under par.

Jay Williamson, who is playing this week on a sponsor's exemption, birdied 17 and 18 to shoot 66 and finish at 8 under. "I made some really good four, five, six-foot putts to keep the momentum, and here I am," Williamson said.
