Paul Casey is the only player with three victories in 2009: BMW PGA Championship, Abu Dhabi and Shell Houston Open. After starting the year 41st in the World Rankings, Casey has replaced Sergio Garcia in the third spot.

Robert De Vicenzo (1980 U.S. Senior Open), Arnold Palmer (1980 Senior PGA Championship) and Jack Nicklaus (1990 Tradition) also debuted with major wins.
