"Golf has benefitted me tremendously. I’ve spent 17 years at the PGA of America, largely in business development and more recently in our growth of the game area ... [I focus] on bringing women into the sport of golf, and making sure that the experience we’re delivering at the point of play is supremely welcoming and really inviting to her."

According to the National Golf Foundation, only 19 percent of golfers are women, but Cross' Get Golf Ready program, a teaching program geared towards prospective women players, aims to change that.

"We’ve definitely made some inroads ... Sixty-three percent of the participants in “Get Golf Ready” are women. Eighty-three percent of the graduates of “Get Golf Ready” are staying in the game and spending in the game. They’re committed to the sport. So it really works."

"I’m pleased to say that my game is in pretty good shape right now. It’s much improved from when I started out about 15 years ago. I’m a higher handicapper, a 28, but I’m really, really proud that I have a handicap, and I that I’ve finally broken 100 recently. Now that I’ve done it, I want to do it again."
